Reader Manuela Scharl was allowed to look behind the scenes of her favorite series “Dahoam is Dahoam” as part of the BR campaign “Mitmisch!”. On the grounds of the film village, she was able to experience the actors up close.

Despite ongoing filming, the actors of the series “Dahoam is Dahoam” (DiD) stayed in the hallways of the studio building, chatted with their visitors, talked about their everyday work and smiled happily into the cell phone cameras for all photo requests. Carina Dengler, who has been miming the role of Kathi since 2013, even lifted her sweatshirt on the way to the canteen to show visitors what a fake pregnancy belly looks like.

According to visitor Manuela Scharl (61), seeing the actors of their favorite series up close was the best thing when visiting the set. In our newspaper, the 61-year-old from Oberaudorf (Rosenheim district) had read about the public campaign “Get involved!” by Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR), in which a wide variety of BR programs opened their doors. And could hardly believe her luck that she was one of the nine chosen ones who were allowed to look behind the scenes of “DiD” on a day of shooting.

It all started last Wednesday at 9.45 a.m. at the reception of the film village in Dachau. In addition to Manuela Scharl, BR had invited eight other “DiD” friends to the set. Including two mothers with their young daughters who love to watch the series together, and two gentlemen who are die-hard fans, one of whom has worked as an extra in BR productions. The joy of the extensive daily program was palpable, the excitement of meeting the performers of their favorite roles was great.

At the start, studio manager Heike Vater showed the group the happily chatting location. Past the beer garden, the Kirchleitner brewery and the butcher’s shop, visitors were able to catch a glimpse of filming in front of the pharmacy. As BR editorial assistant Philipp Wilhelm Wimmer explained, these scenes will be broadcast on television “in February” at the earliest. Because the individual episodes are usually shot about three months in advance.

In the anteroom to the mayor’s office, Manuela Scharl noticed that the rooms of the Lansing municipal administration “appear much smaller in reality than on television”. The fans examined with interest the fictitious brochures from the municipal administration, which were worked out down to the last detail and which, among other things, give tips for mountain and bicycle tours in the imaginary district of Baierkofen. All designed by the studio’s graphic designers, who also create all the labels for the butcher’s and pharmacy’s products under fictitious names. Because they want to do without brand at “DiD”, explained the studio manager father. One of the invented medical manufacturers is called “Dabreslt”, Facebook became “Hello Friends”, and the Lansinger equivalent to Tinder is “Hello Single”.

The DiD lovers were able to bring in their own ideas on the day of shooting

In the “Brunnerwirt”, the inn that appears at least once in every episode, the fans then met the first actor. Sitting at the “Stammtisch” Adrian Bräunig (22) alias Joschi answered questions about his everyday work during a break in shooting. He was very sympathetic to the visitors. This applied to all series actors whom the guests met at lunch in the canteen, in makeup and in the corridors. For example Daniel Popat (Pastor Bindian Balu Burman), Andreas Geiss (Benedikt Stadlbauer), Anita Eichhorn (Tina Brenner) and many more.

In conversations with the makers of the series, producer Frank Hein and editorial manager Daniela Boehm, as well as with Christine Thienelt (screenplay editor), the “DiD” lovers were able to bring in their own ideas for new episodes and already experienced a plot that will only come in the coming year is rotated. As a highlight there was the opportunity to watch a scene between Joschi and Tina directly on the set behind the cameras.

For Manuela Scharl, who has been following the Lansinger story since it started 15 years ago, it was an “unforgettable day that exceeded all my expectations”. She drove home from Lansing happily with a gift bag full of autograph cards and lots of photos of herself and the cast.
