Short Film ‘Balloon’ Wins Award at International Film Festival

Short film ‘Balloon’ represented India at Cannes International Film Festival’s Best Cause – Driven Film Awards. Cinematographer and ad film director Sajan Kalam has done the script, direction and cinematography of the film. The short film is regarding the use of drugs and the dangers caused by them. Actor Guru Somasundaram plays the lead role.

The short film has been made in collaboration with Alappuzha District Administration and Social Justice Department of Kerala Government. Sajan Kalam is also a teacher at St. Joseph’s College of Communication, Changanassery. His students also worked on the set of this short film.

Balloon also won two other awards at the Los Angeles Film Festival in the United States. Edited and co-directed by Ranjith Koozhur. Fr Michael Jackson Thomas is the Chief Associate Director. The music is composed by Jacques Bijoy. The other cast members are Art Director Saji Raphael, Production Controller Ebin Philip, Sound Mixing by Binil C Amakad and Post Graduate Students of St. Joseph’s College of Communication.
