Showboat broken and stolen: Two people including a 22-year-old woman arrested – Theft | Crime

Two persons, including a 22-year-old woman, have been arrested in the case of vandalism and theft in Kottayam and Vaikat places of worship. Anwar Shah, a native of Kayamkulam, and his friend Saritha were arrested by the Vaikom police from Etumanur. Police will conduct further investigation on these accused in many cases in Kayamkulam and Idukki.

On the last 24th, three temples and a church were vandalized and stolen in Vechur Edayazham areas. In the CCTV footage of the theft in a temple, the police had also received an indication that one of the thieves, who was wearing a helmet and pants, was a woman. The number of the bike was obtained from checking more CCTVs in the area which helped in nabbing the thieves.

The police have also found that they are the accused in cases of theft and assault in Kayamkulam and Idukki stations. Money has been found from Sarita’s bag. Anwar Shah was brought to temples and evidence was collected. The police also suspect that they are involved in more crimes.
