In a recent press release, Siemens announcement having equipped 64 Engie stations with 320 new fast chargers for electric vehicles.

Engie Vianeo has therefore decided to partner with Siemens to deploy its charging infrastructure. The 64 stations are on the networks SANEF (North and East France Motorway Company), APRR (Paris-Rhine-Rhône motorways), AREA (Rhône-Alpes Motorway Company), and VINCI Motorways. Siemens specifies that the new charging stations “ deliver adjustable power from 160 kW to 300 kW ».

The Ionity network has competition. Engie and Siemens have done things well: the terminals are capable of distribute the load between two vehicles, they offer an efficiency greater than 95.5% and have a 24-inch screen to optimize the user experience. Another positive point: prices are displayed at the entrance to stations, as is currently the case at filling stations for fossil fuels.

In May 2023, France crossed the milestone of 100,000 charging stations open to the public on its territory. Infrastructure is developing rapidly. By 2030, our country should have between 330,000 and 480,000. Siemens is therefore seeking to take part in this conquest of the electric. The company will also collaborate with Volkswagen to develop the Electrify America. Siemens has decided to invest 430 million euros there.

The German equipment manufacturer says it wants ” meet the challenges of tomorrow » with powerful charging infrastructure for electric vehicles. For his part, Didier Liautaud, Managing Director of Engie Vianeo France, believes that ” the reinforcement of the national network of charging stations is essential to build the mobility of tomorrow, where the use of electric vehicles will be more and more widespread ».

In parallel, Siemens is working on a new solution aimed at simplifying the installation of charging stations. Sort of like pre-made Tesla Superchargers. The idea is to allow a quick installation by limiting civil engineering work. Modular terminals, capable of adapting to all types of locations, in private car parks for example, or more imposing locations such as shopping centres.
