“I only understand it to a limited extent because I don’t read all of it. But it’s funny that there has been speculation about my love life over the last 20 years,” said the pop singer on the sidelines of his anniversary tour “The Big Pop Festival XXL 2024 with Florian Silbereisen” in an interview with the German Press Agency.
Silbereisen was with one of Germany’s most famous singers, Helene Fischer (“Atemlos”), until 2018. There is currently speculation as to whether Silbereisen has a relationship with the singer Beatrice Egli (“My Heart”, “Balance”). The 42-year-old and the 35-year-old winner of the tenth “Deutschland sucht den Superstar” season countered the speculation with the song “Only we know that”.
Silbereisen describes the reaction in more detail: “I mean, I even made fun of it with Beatrice in the song we sing together.”
“I don’t mind much”
Silbereisen said he doesn’t know why his love life fascinates people. “Apparently you want to know how or what is going on. Then you at least know that there is interest in you,” he said and smiled.
Does it matter to him? “That doesn’t bother me much. As I said, I don’t really care about any of these things,” said the singer, who was born in a community in the Bavarian district of Passau.
