While Konami is still slow to formalize the return of Silent Hill, Christophe Gans, director of the first film of 2006 who is currently working on the cinematographic reboot, has just dropped a small bomb for fans of the license.

The wait is starting to get long for the return of Silent Hill. The famous horror license of Konami is desired, after the many rumors announcing his return and the few leaks currently circulating on the web. If the fans are undoubtedly impatient and remain on the lookout for the slightest information concerning the franchise, for its part Konami reveals absolutely nothing. Nothing official for the moment, at least for the video game.
If the license is to make a comeback, it will at least be in cinemas. As we know, Christophe Gans, director of the first film in 2006, intends to offer viewers a cinematographic reboot of the license by 2023. The license will come back in force
While Konami has not yet revealed anything about its plans for Silent Hill, the filmmaker has confirmed the return of the license. According to the interested party, fans will not be entitled to a single game, but several.
There are several games. Several teams. there’s a whole line of games actually. They will reinvigorate the franchise. I think they were very impressed by the “reboots” (remakes) of Resident Evil 2 and 3 which are indeed absolutely extraordinary games. (…) They said to themselves “it’s time to go” and that happened to be when Victor Hadida, my producer and I decided to go back to Silent Hill.
What games Christophe Gans is referring to exactly, hard to be sure. He is definitely talking about remake of the second opusbut also very mysterious The Short Message spotted in South Korea. The other good information to take concerns Team Silent, which was thought to have disappeared. According to the filmmaker, the development team in charge of the franchise still exists today.
I work with Team Silent, they are always there. I work in collaboration with Konami because they are in a way the co-producers of the film and they have a say in the work that I do on the adaptation for a new Silent Hill.
