The long-awaited horror game “Silent Hill: The Short Message” by console fans was officially released at the State of Play 2024. Producer Hajime Okamoto said that the game will be free for players to play.

Silent Hill: The Short Message is a spin-off of the classic horror series set in modern Germany. Players can explore a location called “Villa” from the first-person perspective of the protagonist Anita. The game is full of strong suicide themes and elements of horror and violence. The protagonist Anita will realize that she is in a strange space, and compares the content of Maya’s text message “Until you find it, you cannot leave.”
Game producer Moto Okamoto: “We will release the entire game for free. If you have never played the “Silent Hill” series of games before, we hope you can take this opportunity to experience all the contents of “Silent Hill”.” PlayStation on the Blog “This game started out like an experimental project, a chance for us to try different things, see what works and what doesn’t, and refine our horror game expertise,” the post states.
