Silent Hill: Unannounced game registered in Korea

Rumors of a comeback for the classic horror series Silent Hill have been swirling for many months, but we’re still waiting for an official announcement. This could possibly be getting closer now, because a previously unannounced Silent Hill has now been registered in Korea.

Will we finally get some clarity on what’s going on around Silent Hill anytime soon? At least in one case this could happen, because after several leaks in the recent past, a new and previously unannounced Silent Hill has actually been registered in distant Korea.

As Gematsu reported, the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea recently found a re-rated title called Silent Hill: The Short Message. Platforms are not mentioned in this context, so it remains to be seen what this is ultimately about.

The fact that Konamit is behind it can be considered relatively certain. Reason: The registration was submitted by the company UNIANA – and Konamis eFootball 2023 had previously registered in the same place in South Korea for the developer and publisher.

However, this name is completely new in the context of the numerous Silent Hill rumors. Recently, speculation and leaks have been more about a possible remake of Silent Hill 2, but according to reports, several offshoots of the series are said to be in the works anyway.

The well-known Konami insider DuskGolem recently had via Twitter stresses that we will finally hear more about the next Silent Hill in the near future. The signs of exactly this have now become more concrete. According to that leaker, The Short Message is said to be the game with the internal project name Sakura; the specific name may refer to an in-game messaging system. We will keep you informed about the further developments of this rumor!
