It’s been almost four years since the presentation of Hollow Knight Silksong took place and it made an impression. Since then, players have been eagerly awaiting the announcement of a release date at each conference or Nintendo Direct, but the new game from little Team Cherry continues to be desired.
But where did Hollow Knight Silksong go?
If it took a while to arrive, Hollow Knight is almost immediately became a reference from metroidvania. Striking universe, amazing artistic direction, and gameplay as fluid as it is demanding. But Hollow Knight Silksong has since been very discreet, reappearing very concretely only at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase conference in June 2022, still without a release date. The difference is that Microsoft had indicated that what was shown should be released within the next year.
We are at the end of April, and Hollow Knight Silksong has still not been dated by Team Cherry who, let us remember, only consists of a few people. All this expectation has created a tendency to bet on the appearance of the game at each conference or presentation, a sign that we are begin to consider the game as a small Arlesian. The team wants to be reassuring, and explained last February on its Discord that she wanted the title to come out as soon as possiblethat QA testers are doing their best, and that the wait is worth it.

This was too much for one Reddit user, who decided to recreate the game himself using Unity. Called Falcon175, he realized a real demo in a few days, showing Hornet moving, jumping, and taking out a few opponents. The result is relatively basic, with simple backgrounds and incomplete animations, but it’s still quite impressive for something done in such a short time by someone who just want to practice and learn how to use the motor.
Because yes, this demo has no desire to pull the rug out from under and to incur the wrath of lawyers, but simply to help a game developer, visibly a fan of the license and eager to play the title, to make his weapons. He also specifies it in his post, in order to leave no ambiguity. Do not expect to recover this demo to make the wait easier:
