Nets head coach Steve Nash said in an interview today that Ben Simmons will not play for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs.
Simmons has yet to play any games this season. After he was traded from the 76ers to the Nets, he found that the lumbar disc was protruding again, and the return date was delayed again and again. Recently, he began to do some shooting training, participated in the Nets team training today, and conducted free throw training with the help of assistant coaches, without vigorous running and confrontation training.
Nash doesn’t want Simmons to come back early without participating in three high-intensity workouts.
According to previous reports, Simmons is expected to return during the playoffs. Nash also said that after Simmons returns, he will not immediately enter the starting lineup.
The Nets are currently weighing whether to rest Seth Curry for the remainder of the regular season, and Nash said, “That’s where we’re at right now… Should we rest him?
