Singapore F1 GP 2022: Checo Pérez, an exciting victory ahead of the United States GP and the Mexican GP

Sergio ‘Checo’ Prez He has found the emotional boost necessary to close the 2022 F1 season in the best way. The Mexican pilot Red Bull conquered the top of the podium at the Singapore Grand Prix, getting his fourth win in the Great Circus.

At the Marina Bay Urban Circuit, the man from Tapato signed a time of 2:02:20.238, beating Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr. from Ferrari. A fundamental victory towards two of the great events of Checo in the campaign: the United States and Mexico.

“It’s my best performance. I controlled the race, the last three laps were very intense, I didn’t feel it inside the car, but I did when I got out of it. I pushed everything to win,” Sergio said after the positive result.

Without a doubt, victory does win over Max Verstappen’s teammate in confidence and excite the Mexican public.

The month of October has started in an excellent way for Checo, who is a few weeks away from being “local”. On October 23, F1 will stop at the Circuit of the Americas, in the U.S; while a week later, on the 30th, the Autdromo Hermanos Rodríguez will vibrate with the presence of the Aztec.

These are two crucial races for Prez, who with his win in Singapore he came within just two points of Leclerc in the Drivers’ World Championship. The Mexican has 235 units, with five races to go before the end of the season.

Even more exciting is seeing last year’s numbers, where Checo stood on the podium both on US soil and on Mexican soil. In both GPs Prez finished in third place.

A spectacular closing of the campaign is coming for F1 and Checo Pérez ‘threatens’ to sign his best year at a professional level. United States and Mexico, fundamental to achieve it.
