Singapore suicide rate hits 22-year high

The number of suicides among people aged 70 to 79 in Singapore surged to 48 last year, a 60% increase from 30 in 2021, according to Helping People Singapore.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), suicide is the fourth leading cause of death among young people aged 15 to 29 worldwide. Worldwide, more than 700,000 people die by suicide every year.
