The French singer Daniel Levi, suffering from colon cancer since 2019, succumbed to the disease this Saturday at the age of 60.
Thursday August 4, his wife Sandrine Aboukrat indicated that “time is running out” and called to “pray for the healing” of her husband.
Father of three children from a first marriage, he announced on July 15 the birth of his last daughter in a video. “I am happy to announce that I am the father of a little girl since this morning. Lovely. His mother is doing well. The baby is doing well.” said the artist.
Daniel Lévi began his career in the early 80s after being hired as a pianist in a Parisian club. He was immediately spotted thanks to his golden voice by the Disney studios, looking for an interpreter for the credits of the cartoon Aladdin. “This blue dream”, his duet with Karine Costa, will mark an entire generation of the 90s.
In 2000, his career took a real turn with the musical “The Ten Commandments”, directed by Elie Chouraqui and Pascal Obispo. Daniel Levi embodies Moses and performs the title “L’Envie d’aimer”; record that will be sold over a million copies in France and will even be taken up by Celine Dion, with whom he will sing in duet during a TV appearance. The phenomenal success of the musical will make the artist known to the general public.
In 2021, Daniel Levi released the album “Grâce à toi”, a declaration of love to his wife Sandrine. Guest in the GGMO studios on i24NEWS in February of the same year, he confided in his state of health: “It’s going well…[…] We have a wonderful gift that is life, so we wake up every morning saying thank you, my God.
