SIRAP accelerates its expanded polystyrene recycling project

The SIRAP factory is located in the town of Remoulins (Gard), in the premises of the former Vitembal Remoulins factory. This is an Italian company that specializes in the manufacture of plastic packaging and packaging for foodstuffs. SIRAP has long since launched a project to manufacture packaging in recyclable material, in particular PET. However, the recycling of expanded polystyrene remains insufficient. To ensure the continuity of its activity, SIRAP must make its recycling sector operational by 2025, according to the regulations in force. Also, the company is considering a partnership with a recycler to increase the volume of expanded polystyrene recovery.

The acceleration of the recycling sector is intended to be a sustainable solution. Indeed, it promotes the reduction of the impact of the production of plastic packaging on the environment. This project is part of a circular economy approach. Around 3 million euros are needed to transform the factory’s production lines.
