Junior shot put winner Shivanand overcame the challenges of the Covid era with two months of training. Sivanand told Manorama News that he wanted a medal but did not expect gold.
Sivanand felt the need to participate in the shot put competition after watching the Olympics. 1st position at the sub-district level after throwing without any training. And did not hesitate. Determined to learn shot put. But then was the time of covid. Sivanand started training last October after two years of desire. After two months of training, Sivanand won first place in the state school competition.
The family is there with all the support for the training. Sivanand’s next wish is to try his hand at discus throw and hammer throw.
