Amateur theater troupe Six pieds sur scène, based in Pont-l’Abbé, Finistère, is preparing for its upcoming season while organizing the Rires en scène festival from October 23 to 25, 2026, ouest-france.fr reported. The group participates in approximately one comedy production each year, bringing together members who handle every stage of staging a play, from set design and costumes to reading and direction.
The company currently features four male members and has selected Jean-Christophe Barc’s comedy la Journée de la femme for its next production. The play centers on three men who attempt to cook a dinner to celebrate their wives, only to face numerous twists and turns in a story dedicated to women facing the petty behavior of men. The premiere is scheduled for late February 2027 at the CLC du Guilvinec.

The Appeal of Amateur Theater in Finistère
Christian Tirilly, a member who initiated the troupe, highlighted the unique collaborative nature of the group. Members share the responsibilities of building sets, designing costumes, and rehearsing lines together.
“Interpréter un rôle sur scène, changer chaque fois de personnage et s’inspirer de diverses expériences pour enrichir son jeu, c’est s’offrir une parenthèse enchantée où l’on incarne un autre pour mieux se retrouver,” Christian Tirilly explained, noting that troupe experiences create strong bonds and a unique group dynamic.
Tirilly has previously taken on diverse roles in local productions, portraying a mayor in Vive Bouchon, a priest in Chacun sa croix, and a schoolteacher in la Maîtresse en maillot de bain. Because the group accommodates members’ varying professional and familial schedules, adaptation remains central to their rehearsal process.
Weekly Workshops Train New Theater Members
To welcome new members, Six pieds sur scène launched a weekly theater workshop led by professional instructor Évelyne Kologrecki. Sessions take place every Thursday evening at 20:00, excluding school holidays, at the local patronage laïque.
During these workshops, participants explore core acting techniques including breathing, vocal control, and memorization to help aspiring performers develop their stage presence. At the same time, the troupe is finalizing preparations for the Rires en scène festival, held from October 23 to 25, 2026, in collaboration with Le Triskell.
