Ski jumping: a second coronation for the Polish Piotr Zyla – rts.ch

Piotr Zyla won the small hill world title in Planica. The Pole beat two Germans, Andreas Wellinger and Karl Geiger. Already victorious in Oberstdorf in 2021, Zyla scored a rare double.

Thirteenth only following the first round, the 36-year-old jumper broke the springboard record in the final with a jump of 105m to win the day. The wind brought him a very precious help on this victorious jump.

Gregor Deschwanden and Simon Ammann have managed a competition that meets certain expectations, even moderate ones. The Lucernois took 19th place, the Saint-Gallois 28th. Killian Peier (33rd) and Remo Imhof (35th) failed to qualify for the final.

Ammann betrayed by the wind

Deschwanden had jumps of 97.5m and 93.5m. Disappointing this season, the Lucerne has undoubtedly regained confidence with this result. A little betrayed by the wind on his second jump, Ammann did not manage, for his part, to land the telemark he wanted on his landings.
