After two consecutive falling quarters, the global market for smartwatches again celebrated a growth in sales, according to a new survey from Counterpoint Reasearch. According to firm data, the sector grew 11% in the year-on-year comparison and again saw changes in positions in the ranking of companies in the last quarter — although the Appleof course, has remained in the lead.
According to the data, Maçã closed the last period with a 22% market sharealthough it has suffered a drop of 10% compared to the second quarter of last year, when it appeared with a market share of 27%. Speaking of the Chinese manufacturer, Huawei was the company that grew the most compared to the same period in 2022, when it recorded a market share of 7%. A India, by the way, was another highlight of this research. According to Counterpoint, the country already represents 34% (+12%) of this market, surpassing other strong regions such as North America (21%) and China (20%).
For this, the country’s manufacturers seem to have bet on the entry market, since 88% of Indian smartwatches sold were in the US$50 range.
