This company is the leader in the distribution of games and toys in Europe. With more than 270 stores in France, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands. The group’s adventure began in 1986, in Ireland. This under the initiative of four brothers, Tony, Padraig, Liam and Thomas Smyth. A sibling still at the head of the toymaker, which today employs more than 6,000 employees in its various subsidiaries.

Smyths Toys store Perigueux
Following the takeover of PicWicToys, 41 stores are now known as Smyths Toys in France. Yet in Périgueux, given the absence of Toys’r us or PicWicToys stores, Smyths Toys is not immediately present.
The concept of this new toy store is totally different from its predecessor and from other toyshops in general. While the latter are indeed betting on the customer experience and the family walk, the newcomer offers a return to the basics of commerce, that is to say choice and prices.
This new concept is also visible from the entrance to the store. Indeed, a large section, called “10€ & less” offers a wide range of products at low prices (Lego boxes, early learning toys, Disney Princess dolls, etc.). At the back of the store, a large clearance area also offers various sale products.
Only downside, apart from disguises and some outdoor products (like the wheelie), the products are displayed in their boxes. Not possible, therefore, to test them. Children can try balance bikes, bicycles and other scooters provided they put them back in their place.
The launch of Smyths Toys Périgueux, Dordogne Périgord, will be done with great fanfare. There are thus many surprises and entertainment on the program. But also, contests, as well as promotional offers of up to half price on a selection of toys.
So go to Périgourdins and Périgourdines to finally discover this new toy store. For the moment the date and the address of the inauguration of this store are not yet formalized. In the immediate future, and before the opening of Smyths Toys in Périgueux (Dordogne Périgord), the inhabitants can go to less important competing chains:
