BAN ON HEAVY VEHICLES
The movement of heavy goods vehicles will be gradually banned from west to east in the northern third of France as freezing rain moves through the night, announced the Minister of Ecological Transition Christophe Béchu.
“We will start at 8 p.m. with Normandy, Eure-et-Loire and Loiret” and this ban “will be extended at 10 p.m. to the Ile-de-France region and the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region”, then to Hauts -de-France and Alsace from midnight.

A THIRD OF FRANCE PREPARES FOR SNOW
The north of France faces significant risks of freezing rain from this evening. Winter has well and truly settled in France. A snowy episode will cross the northern half of France from Tuesday evening to Thursday, accompanied by significant risks of ice until Saturday and snowfall “sometimes significant are expected from Upper Normandy to the Belgian border”, Météo-France warned on Monday. On the other hand, cold episodes are becoming rarer in France as on a planetary scale, under the effect of global warming which reduces their probability, duration and intensity, according to climatologists.
