“Something much worse could happen” – 2024-02-26 01:36:55

According to information, the fire was caused by a gas can thrown by an unknown person in the gallery. The intervention of the Fire Department was immediate and thus the fire was limited to the warehouse of the theater and did not spread.

“They threw a gas can into a warehouse that was poorly guarded, that did not have a strong door or entrance. It was a rough construction and they threw it through the glass,” Katia Dandoulaki told MEGA.

It is noted that objects and exhibits of the Broadway theater and the Katia Dandoulakis theater are kept in the warehouse.

The actress emphasized that fortunately no one was in danger from the fire.

“There was no other damage other than the destruction of the warehouse. There was a problem with the electrical cables and optical fibers. My own well-made signs that were on the roof of the gallery were burned. That’s nothing in the face of anything worse that might happen. I am happy from the point of view that we were saved and neither a person nor the theater was in danger. It will take time to build all of this. The point is that one is in danger from nothing, from a stupidity”.

“This gallery is a center for passers-by. People come in and out, homeless people. We have done all the procedures in a polite way, to find them a place to stay, but they don’t want to. They want to stay there. This situation is not manageable. All families, all homes are at risk at any time”, concluded Katia Dandoulaki.
