Korea lost 2:3 to Ghana in the second round of Group H of the 2022 Qatar World Cup held at the Education City Stadium in Qatar on the 28th.

After conceding goals in the first half, Kyu-Sung Cho’s fantastic multi-goal in the second half did not lead to a victory for the team, which doubled the regret.

Our national team recorded 1 draw and 1 loss, and a red flag was turned on to advance to the round of 16. After the game, Son Heung-min, who was more regretful than anyone else, showed tears at the end.

Son Heung-min met Koo Ja-cheol, who was waiting to encourage the players in the mixed zone (joint coverage area) after the match against Ghana.

Koo Ja-cheol, who is participating in the World Cup as a KBS commentator, posted a video of the time on his YouTube account on the 29th with the title, “I met our players.”

After the match with Ghana, Son Heung-min, who was lowering his head with a hard expression, looked at Ja-cheol Koo and his eyes shook for a moment, and Ja-cheol Koo silently hugged and patted him.

The two played in two World Cups together and shared the weight of the captain’s armband.

Koo Ja-cheol was the national team captain at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, and Son Heung-min was the youngest member of the national team at the time and was the first to advance to the World Cup.

Son Heung-min fought with a mask on the same day following the game against Uruguay in the first game, but when the whistle sounded at the end of the game, he sat down on the ground unable to hold back his anger.

Right before the end of the game, Kwon Kyung-Won induced an opponent’s corner kick with a mid-range shot, but referee Anthony Taylor (England) ended the game without giving the corner kick a chance.

Midfielder Hwang In-beom was also hugged by Koo Ja-cheol and shed tears.

Koo Ja-cheol said, “We always have to be earnest.” He comforted Hwang In-beom, who played in the same position.

Hwang In-beom said, “I think I can… Really,” he sobbed. Koo Ja-cheol said, “I worked so hard. don’t try to achieve anything don’t try to be nice Fighting until the end,” he said, sparing no encouragement.

He also energized Lee Kang-in, the youngest member of the national team, by saying, “Now you have to lead (the next World Cup).”
