Takashi Iizuka says to “let’s look forward to it”.
In a statement to Japan’s Famitsu magazine, and as part of the publication’s annual year-end custom of asking developers what their plans are for the coming year, Sonic Team leader Takashi Iizuka has commented that a “second wave” of Sonic content is coming for 2023. In addition, it implies that these news are not only related to Sonic Frontiersand that we “look forward to” them:
“Last year was the biggest year in Sonic history, including the release of the movie sequel, new titles Sonic Origins and Sonic Frontiers, and Netflix animation Sonic Prime. We’re preparing a second wave to keep fans happy and keep that momentum going into 2023. We’ve already announced additional content for Sonic Frontiers, but there’s a lot more to it than that, so please look forward to it.”
