Sony Unveils the Prism Collection With Transparent PS5 Covers and DualSense Controllers
PlayStation has announced the Prism Collection, a new line of transparent accessories featuring matching console covers and DualSense wireless controllers in Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray. The accessories use a high-gloss transparent finish to expose internal components, drawing inspiration from late-90s translucent electronics. Sony says this collection is a fresh take on the iconic see-through trend of the late ’90s in a fresh, modern way.
Leo Cardoso and Satoshi Aoyagi from the Color, Material, and Finish design team shared insights on their creative process, stating, We know how much our fans have been looking forward to the return of transparent controllers.

The collection arrives just weeks after Microsoft shipped its Xbox 25th Anniversary console and controller, which also feature translucent, high-saturation finishes. According to PlayStation.Blog, the design team wanted to give players a closer look into the craftsmanship of the hardware. The DualSense controller casing extends its glossy transparent treatment across the rear portion, while the PS5 console covers apply the see-through aesthetic to the upper half of the panels, revealing parts of the internal layout such as the cooling fan.
Global Pricing and Regional Availability
In the United States, the Prism Collection DualSense wireless controller will cost $84.99, while the matching PS5 console covers will retail for $74.99. Pricing varies by region across international markets. In the United Kingdom, Europe, and Japan, the controllers are priced at £74.99, €84.99, and ¥12,480, respectively. The console covers cost £64.99 in the UK, €74.99 in Europe, and ¥9,980 in Japan, according to official manufacturer specifications.
While the DualSense controllers will see a broad global release through participating retailers, the availability of the matching console covers is more restricted. GSMArena noted that Sony’s initial release notes do not specify whether the console covers are compatible with all legacy PS5 revisions or restricted exclusively to newer Slim and Pro hardware models.
