AFEELA Prototype
Sony Honda Mobility unveiled its new EV “AFEELA Prototype” to the press in Japan for the first time on the 17th. In addition to announcing the “AFEELA co-creation program: tentative name” concept for opening up the mobility development environment, the AFEELA Prototype will be exhibited for the first time at “JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW 2023” to be held at Tokyo Big Sight from October 28th to November 5th. Pre-orders for this EV will begin in the first half of 2025, with release scheduled for the same year. Delivery is scheduled to begin in North America in the spring of 2026, and to Japan in 2026.
AFEELA’s concepts are “Autonomy (evolving autonomy),” “Augmentation (expansion of the body, time and space),” and “Affinity (cooperation with people and coexistence with society)” as values that we want to deliver to our users. The initial letter is taken and defined as “3A”.

The key to continued evolution is the opening of the mobility development environment, “AFEELA co-creation program: tentative name.” We will provide an environment where outside creators and developers can freely develop apps and services that run on AFEELA, without limiting ourselves to our own knowledge, and provide a digital space where they can express and co-create their creativity. That’s what it means. Details of the co-creation program will be announced at a later date.
The items that will be possible to create/develop through the co-creation program are as follows, and we provide information centered on the UI that users will see most often. Changes to the theme of the exterior Media Bar, the panoramic screen on the front dashboard, the sound source of e-motor sounds while driving, the ability to superimpose unique additional information on the map of the navigation app, and even more freedom. It will provide an environment where applications and services can be developed. The operating environment of the app is planned to be Android OS.

Along with this, AFEELA’s vehicle data and driving data are scheduled to be disclosed. A cloud API has been prepared to facilitate inter-server collaboration via the cloud.
