Sony presents today Inzone. This is a new brand of gaming gear for PC gamers. According to the press release, this new range of accessories will allow more immersion in the game,“sharpen the senses” and of “maximize play capabilities”.
“The market has expanded: the expansion of esports tournaments and the wider broadcast of matches have increased the interest in gaming”, introduces Sony. In this context, the Japanese firm has decided to launch a new range. The latter aims to offer additional options to players wishing to restore their current gaming equipment.
A new gaming monitor
In this new range, the “HDR Inzone M9” monitor offers 4K definition and Local Dimming. Local dimming improves the black aspect of the screen. And this, by making the dark parts even darker. The monitor screen also boasts a 144Hz refresh rate and a one-millisecond gray-to-gray response time.
Note that the measurement in milliseconds indicates the responsiveness of an LCD screen. A gray to gray response time therefore determines the time spent for a transition between two gray levels. The lower the response time, the smoother and smoother the image will be. In other words, the fewer milliseconds, the better. This tool is for players looking for “better experience on games with deep black and highlight detail”, says Sony. The M3 gaming monitor offers an even higher refresh rate, namely 240 Hz in Full HD, and 1 ms gray-to-gray.
In addition, thanks to the FPS display mode, “brightness and contrast are optimized to see opponents clearly”, boasts Sony. The “Black Equalizer” function reveals the most subtle details, even if they are located in shadow areas. Note that FPS defines the number of frames per second. It is the acronym for “Frames per second” in English.
Features for gamers
The auto KVM switch of the range is an auto switch of the USB hub. Namely that a USB hub, also called “concentrator”, makes it possible to simultaneously connect several USB peripherals to the USB port of a computer. It concentrates the peripherals on a single support and transmits the information sent by the computer to all the other connected peripherals. The hub does not distinguish to which port a frame must be transmitted; which can cause traffic jams. The switch, also called “switch”, directly selects the port concerned by the traffic and directs the information from one device to another.
In short, this switch allows users to “control up to two PCs from a single keyboard, mouse and headset, by plugging them into the monitor”explains the press release.
Three new helmets
Another novelty: two wireless headsets. The first, the Inzone H9 offers 32 hours of battery life and multiple noise canceling microphones. The second, the H7, has 40 hours of battery life. The range also offers a wired headset, the Inzone H3.
All three feature “360 Degree Spatial Sound”. Activated by the Inzone Hub PC software, this “reproduces spatial sound from a multi-channel source”, the statement said. For its part, the smartphone application “Spatial Sound Customization 360” allows players to enjoy a sound “spatialized optimized according to the shape of their ears”.
At what price
The M9 monitor will be available this summer for 1,099 euros. Sony will announce the availability and price of the M3 during 2022. The headsets will be available in July. The H9 for 300 euros, the H7 for 230 euros and the H3 for 100 euros.
