Soon.. Neuralink implants in human brains

Elon Musk’s plan to implant human brain chips appears to be around the corner, as technology startup Neuralink prepares to launch a series of clinical trials with the aim of implanting electronic chips in humans for health purposes.

And the company, co-founded by billionaire Elon Musk in 2016, has vowed that “electronic chips” technology that is implanted in the brain will enable paralyzed people to use the smartphone with their minds faster than anyone who uses their fingers.

Although Musk rushed his promises, saying in 2019 that he expected the device to be implanted in a human skull by 2020, this time it seems close.

According to the British newspaper, The Guardian, Neuralink is currently working on hiring a “clinical trial manager” to conduct clinical trials of its device on humans.

Neuralink had already successfully implanted micro-AI chips in the brains of a monkey and a pig, and later released a video of a monkey with the chip being implanted playing the video game Pong using only his brain.

According to Elon Musk, the chip will be implanted in the skull and charged wirelessly, so that the person feels completely normal.

Musk, who is the world’s richest person, said last month that he was optimistic that the technology could allow people with quadriplegia to walk.

“Hopefully we can survive this with humans for the first time,” he added at a Wall Street Journal CEO Board summit.

He continued, “They will be people with severe spinal cord injuries such as quadriplegia and quadriplegia, and next year we are waiting for approval by the US Food and Drug Administration.”

He added, “I think we have an opportunity with Neuralink to restore full body function to someone with a spinal cord injury. Neuralink technology works well in monkeys, and we actually do a lot of testing and just confirm that it is very safe and reliable and the Neuralink device can be safely removed.”
