Sounding Austria: Christmas in the Salzkammergut

Sepp Forcher invites you to the Salzkammergut – and it is a beautiful, impressive “up and down” with valleys, lakes and impressive mountain peaks. The program begins on the Feuerkogel above Ebensee, while it begins with a sounding, musical beginning on the quiet, front Langbathsee. Things get atmospheric and Christmassy at the famous Kalß nativity scene in the Bad Ischl Local History Museum and at the Marble Castle in the Kaiserpark. In Bad Goisern the “rural” past and present are remembered, while in Atausseee it goes back up to the Loser. Down in Bad Aussee, the “Klingende Österreich” is a guest in the Kammerhof Museum, before moving over to the old restaurant of the Gasthof Veith in Gößl am Grundlsee, where many prominent Austrians have celebrated their Salzkammergut experiences. This broadcast of “Klingenden Österreich” will prove how lively customs, singing and folk music are in the Salzkammergut. 14 brass bands and folk music groups from the Salzburg, Upper Austrian and Styrian Salzkammergut sing, make music and “paschn”.
