THQ Nordic has announced a new South Park game titled Snow Day! on a live stream.
It is described as a cooperative 3D adventure set in the snowy streets of South Park. The game will be released in 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
In the description, THQ Nordic mentions that the game will be 3D and will bring Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny on a three-dimensional adventure to celebrate one of the most magical occasions in a child’s life: a snow day.
Players will be able to bring three friends to battle through the snowy streets of South Park in a quest to save the world and enjoy a day off from school. Check out the trailer below:
According to the official video, the game is in development by Question Games. The California studio has worked on first-person titles like The Magic Circle and The Blackout Club. In 2021, South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone had confirmed to be working on a new 3D game in the franchise.
The two previous South Park games, The Stick of Truth (2014) and The Fractured But Whole (2017) were developed in collaboration with Ubisoft. The second was created by the developer Obsidian, responsible for The Outer Worlds.
On the Metacritic review platform, the games have averages of 85 and 84 respectively. They were well received by critics and audiences, uniting the acidic and absurd humor of the series with excellent gameplay.
