EDF recently announced the launch of the 5 edition of the EDF Pulse Africa awards which will run until August 20, 2023. The objective is to reveal and support African companies in the development of low carbon products, services and solutions aimed at supporting the continent’s energy development.
“For this new edition, EDF wishes to maintain and strengthen its African tour” EDF Pulse Africa Tour “with a view to selecting projects as close as possible to the field. EDF also wishes to renew its support program” EDF Pulse Africa Accelerator “dedicated to the acceleration of the activity of SMEs and start-ups on the continent”, indicate the initiators of this event. Thus, Moroccan SMEs and start-ups are invited to participate in this call for projects.

The latter has 3 categories, namely low-carbon decentralized production, energy efficiency and low-carbon consumption solution and digital decarbonization. “Building on the success of EDF Pulse Africa Tour in previous editions, EDF is renewing and strengthening the principle of project selection with the organization of “regional” finals.
Following a pre-selection via the online platform www.africa-pulse.edf.com, all the short-listed candidates will be invited to defend their project in front of a jury of regional experts in 6 African countries (Africa du Sud, Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Morocco and Mozambique)”, explains the same source indicating that these events will be organized in partnership with African incubators and institutional partners. In this sense, the 6 regional finalists from the “EDF Pulse Africa Tour” will defend their project during the Grand Final in Paris in December.

As part of this 5th edition, in addition to grants for the development of projects ranging from 10 to 20,000 euros, the winners will benefit from personalized support from the EDF Group through its acceleration program “EDF Pulse Africa Accelerator”. . “This comprehensive support plan will enable companies to develop their low-carbon solutions with EDF customers or partners in Africa,” notes the partners in this project. And to conclude: “The Kluster CFCIM, CFCIM’s start-up support program, is proud to put its expertise at the service of this magnificent challenge, in particular by preparing the selected start-ups for the final pitch which will be held before a jury of experts on October 12.
