80% of government spending is paid for by the real performers, the working people; In times of crisis, solutions must be fairly financed through millionaires’ taxes

Vienna (OTS) SPÖ federal manager Sandra Breiteneder gives the President of the Chamber of Labor, Renate Anderl, full support for the demands for a millionaires’ tax: “The working people in the country have to spend every cent on housing, food and heating, there is no longer any left for anything else a lot left.” For the real top performers in our country, real solutions must finally be found in order to find their way back to justice. Corporations should make a larger and fair contribution to financing this. “80% of government spending is paid for by workers and consumers. At the same time, only 1% of the population owns half of all wealth in Austria. There can be no question of justice for a long time,” continues Breiteneder.

People felt the ever-increasing inequality and injustice in Austria, driven by the elbow mentality of the black-green federal government. This would be particularly reflected in severe cuts in the personal quality of life of the working population. “Instead of continuing to give corporations tax gifts and offering them the opportunity to use tax tricks, we have to make them pay. Anyone who is now against millionaire taxes is making politics for the super-rich in the country,” affirms Breiteneder.

Finally, Breiteneder emphasizes that the time for excuses is over: “Our proposal only affects the richest 2% in Austria. At the same time, homes that home builders have worked hard for are exempt up to a luxury limit of 1.5 million. Small house builders should therefore also be exempt from property transfer tax on donations and inheritances.” (Conclusion) bö
