Sporting Lisbon has just signed one of the most important victories of its season this Monday, against Porto (2-0). Before the start of the 14th day, the two teams were tied on points at the top of the Championship, and the Lisbonites therefore took sole control.
From the start of the match, they opened the scoring through their Swedish striker Victor Gyokeres (11th). Not helped by Pepe’s red card shortly after returning from the locker room (51st), the visitors were never able to reverse the trend. Pedro Gonçalves even added to the score in the 60th minute, with an assist from the Swedish striker.
