Sports Direct and Nike have teamed up for their first-ever brand-exclusive Christmas campaign, titled Unwrap Potential
and built around a play on artificial intelligence dubbed Athlete Intelligence.
Launched internationally across more than 900 stores and digital platforms, the rollout relies on a high-profile roster of British and international sporting talent.
Retail Framework Reaches Millions of Customers
- The campaign is amplified through the ELEVATE retail media framework, which reaches more than 32 million customers.
- The hero film showcases signature footwear such as the Nike Phantom 6 Low.
- The featured roster includes Erling Haaland, Leah Williamson, Dina Asher-Smith, Henry Pollock and Aitch.
Unwrapping Potential Across Retail
The 60-second hero film, directed by Tyrus Hill through Park Pictures and created by agency Chaos x Magic, features an uncle searching for the ideal holiday present for his niece. Unbeknownst to him, an elite advisory board of athletes is already examining her capabilities on screen. Erling Haaland, Leah Williamson, Dina Asher-Smith, and Henry Pollock use their purported Athlete Intelligence
to spot the girl’s footballing proficiency before recommending a pair of Haaland’s Nike Phantom 6 Low boots. British rapper and songwriter Aitch also joins the cast, asking the sports stars for help finding gifts for his sisters.
The campaign extends far beyond a single television spot. Alongside the hero film, five 10-second clips target specific gifting scenarios tailored for runners, hybrid trainers, and footballers. Sport Industry Group reported that the multi-channel push went live on November 3 across television, social media, digital displays, and out-of-home advertising.

Driving the Frasers Group Elevation Strategy
For Frasers Group, this exclusive partnership represents a cornerstone of its ongoing commercial repositioning. Michael Murray, Chief Executive Officer of Frasers Group, emphasized the strategic weight of the collaboration as the retailer enters its biggest trading period of the year. Christmas is our biggest trading moment of the year, and our first-ever brand exclusive Christmas ad with Nike is a powerful example of the Elevation Strategy in action,
Murray stated, according to Sport Industry Group.
The domestic rollout leans heavily on Frasers Group’s proprietary retail media network, ELEVATE. That infrastructure connects with over 32 million consumers via digital screens, connected TV, and outdoor advertising throughout the United Kingdom. Complementing the broadcasts, tailored gift guides fronted by the campaign’s athletic and cultural stars offer shoppers direct purchasing pathways.
Athletes Bring Multi-Discipline Sports Credentials
The campaign’s talent assembly bridges multiple disciplines across British and international sport. Leah Williamson brings her leadership profile as the Arsenal defender who captained the Lionesses to European Championship titles in 2022 and 2025, and was made a CBE in the 2026 New Year Honours. Dina Asher-Smith adds her credentials as the fastest British woman in history over 200m, a former world champion, and a three-time Olympian.

On the rugby side, Northampton Saints back-row forward Henry Pollock features prominently following his England debut in 2025, a British & Irish Lions tour, and a Gallagher PREM final player-of-the-match performance in June. Manchester City striker Erling Haaland anchors the football footprint with his global Premier League reach, while Manchester-born Aitch infuses street culture into the narrative.
César García, Vice President and General Manager at Nike EMEA, framed the partnership around broader grassroots objectives. Sport has the power to change how we see ourselves and what we believe is possible,
García noted, as covered by Sport Industry Group. Our partnership with Sports Direct is built on a shared ambition to bring more people to sport.
