Decathlon will sell its products in three Manor stores
The sports and leisure equipment offered by the French company will be available in the Manor department stores in Freiburg, Zurich Letzipark and St. Gallen.
Manor and Decathlon have started a collaboration in three cities. The French sports giant’s products will be added to the assortment of Manor department stores in Freiburg, Zurich Letzipark and St. Gallen, as part of a pilot project, Decathlon said on Wednesday.
The partnership forged between the two companies provides for the takeover of all sports departments in the form of a shop-in-shop, ie three Decathlon stores integrated into Manor’s three test subsidiaries. “If this test proves to be convincing, this project could be extended”, specifies the press release.
“A new stage”
For Manor employees in the sports departments of the three stores concerned, they will be offered the opportunity to join the Decathlon group. “This collaboration marks a new step in Decathlon Switzerland’s desire to complete its economic model, which is less focused on its own stores than on other ways of selling,” said Adrien Lagache, Director of Development at Decathlon.
The brand indeed offers different store formats, especially in town, with a reduced assortment, or more specialized, with a store opened at the end of last year in Zermatt offering items for mountain sports.
For Manor, the collaboration will allow “all of our customers who are passionate about sport to benefit from a greater choice and a better service”, underlines Rainer Bloch, Category director at Manor. “And we hope to increase the number of visitors to our department stores,” he added.
