Under the auspices of the EOT, the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup and the “Georganteia 2024” road races are taking place in the coming days, events that strengthen the image of Greece as a destination for sports tourism, while attracting special interest visitors to our country.
The Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup (FIG Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cup Athens) will be held from March 22 to 24 at the Tae Kwon Do Olympic Indoor Gym (Delta Faliro). It is the leading international event of the sport with the participation of the best athletes (individual) and teams (ensemble) of the planet, which, in addition to the participants and their companions, will also give the opportunity to many friends of sports to visit Athens for to watch the games. It is noted that, from today (15/3) and until Sunday, March 17, the Aphrodite Cup, another international rhythmic gymnastics event that is part of the official calendar of the world federation of the sport, will be held for the 9th year in the same place.
The “Georgantia” will be held for the second year on March 31st in the Arcadia Strait in honor of the Olympian Nikolaos Georgantas, who participated in the 1904 and 1908 Olympic Games. The competition program includes a children’s 1 km road race, as well as 5 km and 10 km recreational road races km., on routes of the municipal communities of Stenos and Lithovounia that cross the “Wine Roads” in the uniquely beautiful plain of Mantineia. The goal of the organizers is to highlight the beneficial advantages of sports and the sports history of the place, to strengthen the visibility of the area and to increase the number of visitors to it.
