A field caught fire in Spreitenbach. Reader reporters send pictures and videos of a fire that quickly spread along the highway. The Aargau canton police confirmed the incident. A baler caught fire around 2:30 p.m., a spokesman said.
The farmer was busy baling straw lying on the field. The farmer immediately uncoupled them from the tractor and alerted the fire brigade.
When this arrived, the fire had already spread to the harvested field. Because of the drought, it was able to spread very quickly. “Around 50 by 50 meters caught fire,” says the spokesman to Blick.
There were no injuries. The fire brigade has since extinguished the fire. The machine suffered major damage, police said.
Why the baler caught fire is being investigated. The police spokesman says that stones could have gotten into the machine, which then sparked. (of)
