SAINT PETERSBURG, October 28. /TASS/. The players of the St. Petersburg “Zenith” beat the Grozny “Akhmat” with a score of 2:1 in the match of the 13th round of the World – Russian Premier League (RPL). The meeting took place at the Gazprom Arena in St. Petersburg.
Among the winners, Ivan Sergeev (32nd minute) and Mateo Cassierra (37) scored goals. Mohamed Konate (24) scored for the losers. Cassierra scored his 10th goal in the current RPL season and is the championship’s top scorer.
The main referee of the match was Sergei Karasev. For him, this game became the 250th in the Russian championships in this status.
Zenit won its third victory in a row in the RPL. The team from St. Petersburg scored 26 points and ranks second in the standings. Akhmat is in 13th place with 12 points.
In the next round, Zenit will play away against Kaliningrad Baltika, and Akhmat will host Fakel Voronezh. The meetings will take place on November 4.
