More specifically, after an investigation by “ET” in 2 large supermarket chains, with prices on March 4 and 13 from their official sites, the following results:

* In one supermarket chain the prices did not change in 98 goods, in 7 they decreased and in 5 they increased. In total, that is, in a sample of 110 products for approximately 90% no change was recorded. The reductions concern: in shampoo 750 ml (minimum reduction), baby diapers No5 34 pieces, laundry liquids (36, 45 and 70 measures), washing powder (68 measures) and cleaning agents of all kinds. The increases, respectively, relate to another brand of shampoo 360 ml, 2 toothpaste labels, all-surface cleaner 1 liter and hair shampoo 500 ml.

* In the other supermarket chain, prices remained stable in 74 goods, in 26 they increased and in 19 they decreased. From the above it follows that in a percentage of more than 62% the prices did not change (119 products were examined). In particular, reductions were observed in: foam showers of 400, 475, 500 ml and even 2 of 600 ml, 2 shampoos of 330 and 750 ml, 2 dish detergents of 400 and 900 ml, facial cleansing emulsion 400 ml, eye cream, 2 cream soaps of 750 and 1 of 900 ml, bleach 1,250 ml, liquid cleaner of any kind 750 ml, general cleaning cream 500 ml and spray for all surfaces 1 liter.

Revaluations

Conversely, increases were recorded in moisturizing cream 50 ml, baby diapers (3 types), hair foam 200 ml, hairspray 75 ml, 3 shampoos 360, 400 and 750 ml, dishwashing detergent 1500 ml, cleaning liquid 1 liter, shower gels 650 and 750 ml, baby/child shampoo 500 ml and 2 of 750 ml, hair conditioner 450 ml, anti-scale liquid 750 ml, 3 toothpastes of 75 ml, cream soap 1 liter, cleaning cloths 15 pieces, liquid laundry detergent 17 scoops, cleaning spray for all surfaces 750 ml, dishwashing liquid 450 ml and baby shower gel 500 ml.

It is worth noting that the large discrepancy recorded in the prices concerning baby diapers is due to the fact that on 4/3 it was an offer product at the particular supermarket, while on 13/3 it was not.

In addition, the total of goods between the two supermarket chains differs, as some codes were not available on both dates when the checkouts were implemented.

Selection

The products selected fall into the categories of the 108 labels for which the Ministry of the Interior announced a drop in average price list at the start of the implementation of the measure “Reduction of benefits to supermarkets” (some of these labels were not available in the supermarkets in question).

The measure entered into force from 1.3.2024 and concerns the categories of goods: laundry detergents (powder, liquid or tablets), laundry detergents for hand washing, dishwasher detergents (powder, liquid or tablets), laundry detergents dishes and hand utensils, surface cleaners of all kinds, bleaches, shampoos and conditioners (hair conditioners), shower gels, liquid soaps, solid soaps, toothpastes, baby and children’s diapers – and from 20/3 menstrual products.
