Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, chaired the meeting of the Higher Commission for Assignment, in its entirety, in the presence of Dr. Ashraf Hatem, Chairman of the Health Committee in the House of Representatives, Dr. Karim Badr, Secretary of the Health Committee, and the captains of human doctors, dentists, pharmacists, physiotherapy and nursing, at the Ministry of Health’s general office.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Health stressed the importance of the role of the Higher Committee for Assignment, and the importance of the presence of its members from various unions and relevant authorities, in solving all challenges facing medical service providers.

Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population, stated that the minister was briefed on the study on the numbers of manpower in the medical professions who are addressed by the assignment law in the Ministry of Health and its affiliates. The study included the total number of doctors, pharmacists, nursing specialists and all medical service providers on the job. Deficit rates, the average annual number of college graduates, and the average expected increase over the next five years.

He added that the minister discussed during the meeting the rules regulating the assignment process and the mechanisms for distributing taxpayers to all parties addressed by law, according to the needs of the health system, to fill the deficit.

Abdel Ghaffar said that Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar stressed the need to open new fields for pharmacists in coordination with the Supreme Council of Universities and the Supreme Council of University Hospitals in accordance with what is followed in global health systems, stressing the importance that the assignment requests received from the authorities express a real need, taking into account the deficit in The number of health service providers and the fairness of geographical distribution in all governorates.

At the end of the meeting, the Supreme Committee, with the agreement of all its members, made a recommendation to Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health, that the assignment of all groups addressed by Law No. 29 of 1974 regarding the assignment of doctors, pharmacists, dentists, nursing bodies, health technicians and technical assistance groups, in accordance with the needs received from the bodies mentioned in the law As of the commissioning movement in the year 2025 in line with the provisions of the commissioning law in this regard.
