Today, the competent authorities in the Kingdom lifted the decision to suspend travel with the national identity of the countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf for movement to and from the Kingdom, after nearly 780 days of the suspension decision was issued on the twenty-seventh of February 2020, in the context of taking precautionary measures to prevent the outbreak of the Corona virus at that time.
Sources confirmed to “Youm” that the Passport Departments at various border crossings began implementing the decision to travel with the national identity between the Gulf countries, starting from today, Thursday.
The decision to continue suspending the travel of citizens between the Gulf countries with the national identity during the last period has cast a shadow over the work of the General Directorate of Passports in the Kingdom, after the significant increase in requests to extract and renew passports of citizens from various regions, while the Eastern Region Passports Department received the lion’s share of these The requests, as a result of the region’s embrace of all international ports with the Gulf countries, and the Dammam Passport Department witnessed a great demand for the renewal and receipt of passports.
