starving children? | SN.at

On the article “How we all whine Herbert Kickl to the Federal Chancellery” (Alexander Purger, SN, May 15, 2023):

Alexander Purger certainly has every right to criticize the claims of Andreas Babler, an emphatically left-wing candidate for the party chairmanship of the SPÖ. People freezing in apartments with mold on the walls and starving children who come to kindergarten are hopefully rare exceptions. As is well known, we live in a welfare state that helps all those in need and in a country in which the church does enormous things for the socially disadvantaged. Perhaps the families in which the conditions mentioned by Mr. Babler prevail should be examined more closely. I would be interested in the lifestyle and (paid) work of healthy people who then send their hungry children to kindergarten. There may be improvements to be made so that these people can get the essentials. And yes, the whining about dire poverty in our country is of course driving people into the arms of the Freedom Party.
