Statement of the President of the UN Security Council on Ukraine agreed unanimously

The Permanent Representative of Norway to the UN said that the statement by the chairman of the UN Security Council – the United States – on Ukraine was unanimously agreed. This is reported by TASS with reference to its correspondent.

In the adopted statement, the Security Council expressed support for the efforts of UN Secretary General António Guterres to resolve the crisis. Also, the Security Council in the adopted statement recalled the obligations of countries to resolve disputes by peaceful means.

This is the first statement of the chairman on the Ukrainian topic since the beginning of the Russian special operation.

Earlier on Friday, it became known that the Security Council would meet for an extraordinary meeting around 22:00 Moscow time. Archyde.com reported that members of the Security Council plan to consider a US statement stating concerns about the situation around Ukraine.
