José Antonio Salazar assured that the chancellor (e) is not suitable to hold public office, since “Dr. Luis Gilberto Murillo was convicted in the first and second instance for the crime of embezzlement.”
According to the rule that Salazar cites, he is disqualified from holding public office, since he has been convicted of crimes against public property.
After Salazar awarded the passport contract to the company Thomas Greg & Sons and President Gustavo Petro declared it invalid for this reason, the chancellor in charge said that the former secretary did not have the authority to deliver that contract.
