Stellantis, agreement for the incentivized exit of 1,520 workers

An agreement was signed by Stellantis and the Turin metalworking unions for the voluntary, incentivized exit of 1,520 workers employed in 21 group companies present in the area, out of a pool of approximately 12 thousand employees in total. This was communicated by the acronyms of the metalworkers – Fim, Uilm, Fismic and Ugl – who signed the agreement. Of these, as the union says, 733 incentive exits are planned in the central structures (employees and managers) and 300 in the Mirafiori body shops.

«The numbers requested by the company in Turin are high and this must make us reflect on the fact that the situation is increasingly dramatic. It is urgent to accelerate the discussion with Stellantis and institutions to create a real relaunch project for Mirafiori”, comments Luigi Paone, general secretary of Uilm Torino.

For Rocco Cutrì, secretary of the Fim Cisl of Turin, “it is increasingly necessary for Stellantis to present industrial solutions and projects that can ultimately guarantee the relaunch of employment and the automotive industry”.

The plan for Mirafiori is part of the agreement for voluntary exits signed by the unions with the company last week and which will now have to be modulated according to the needs of the different territories. That of Mirafiori, in terms of production volumes and new industrial missions, is the most delicate situation in Italy.

Next week, on April 3, institutions, employers’ associations and unions will be, together with Stellantis, at the table convened by Mimit to examine the situation of the Turin plant of the Group led by Carlos Tavares. while on 12 April the workers’ representatives called a strike and a demonstration, which was also joined by the mayor of Turin Stefano Lorusso and the president of Piedmont, Alberto Cirio, to ask for the relaunch of Mirafiori.
