Austria is one of the top European countries when comparing purchasing power

Vienna (OTS) – “The Eurostat data on purchasing power confirm the Austrian path. Austria recorded the third highest net income adjusted for purchasing power in 2022. This puts our country well ahead of countries like Germany or Spain, which are often cited by political competitors as positive examples of crisis management. On average, Austrians can afford 8% more than Germans and even almost 50% more than Spaniards. These data speak an unmistakable language and prove that the federal government’s strategy is right. The government’s middle course of strengthening purchasing power on the one hand and intervening in prices where necessary has paid off in the fight against inflation,” says the General Secretary of the People’s Party, Christian Stocker, about Austria’s very positive purchasing power development compared to Europe.

“While the political extremes on the left and right are talking about the downfall of Austria, despite all the successes in combating the crisis, the federal government continues to work to ensure that Austria remains at the forefront of Europe.
