What we eat affects our body greatly, which is why we must monitor what we eat and eat healthy foods that benefit the human body.
Below we show you the 5 worst foods for the human body, according to the Eatthis website.
1. Potato chips:
Potato chips contain 500 milligrams of sodium and about 1/4 teaspoon of salt, which is about one-third of the total milligrams of sodium the American Heart Association says the average adult should aim for in a day.
A study in the New England Journal of Medicine found that potato chips add more weight to consumers’ bodies than sugary drinks, processed meats, red meat and other foods.
2. Fried chicken:
Chicken is a healthy alternative to red meat because it contains less saturated fat than beef and is a great source of protein, but frying chicken turns its nutritious protein into one of the most unhealthy meals.
When you fry chicken in oil, the food absorbs a lot of fat, which increases the calorie content of the meal.
Even worse, frying foods at high temperatures with vegetable oils form trans fats, which are linked to increased risks of heart disease, cancer and obesity.
The saturated fat from chicken also raises the bad LDL cholesterol, which contributes to plaque formation in the arteries, putting you at risk of heart disease and stroke.
Donuts are made of white flour, sugar and vegetable ghee, and frying it because it contains trans fats, which are the worst types of fats that increase bad cholesterol and lower good cholesterol.
4. Cold Meats:
Cold meats contain a preservative called sodium nitrate, which leads to chronic inflammation in the arteries, causing atherosclerosis and narrowing of the arteries.
5. Canned soup:
Even soups that contain beans and vegetables are very salty, so soups are notoriously bad for heart health.
