A strange incident took place in the Dakahlia governorate, specifically in the Talkha center, when a group of people called a citizen to tell him that the body of his deceased father was with them, and to return it to him, he had to pay a large amount of money.
The incident occurred specifically during the month of February, in the Talkha Center district, when these 3 people threatened a citizen named “W.S.A.” They asked him for 500,000 pounds in return for returning the body of his deceased father, “S.A.”, after it was stolen from his tomb, 14 months after his death.
At that time, the son informed the security authorities to move towards the incident, and they succeeded in apprehending these thieves, and after interrogating them, they referred them to the Public Prosecution, which charged the perpetrators with violating the sanctity of graves and desecrating them by opening the grave of the deceased and taking his remains and moving them from his grave.
For his part, Jamal Ramadan Mamoun, the lawyer for the family of the deceased, said: “The defendants committed a strange and unusual act when they resorted to a trick to seize money from their victims, by exhuming the deceased’s grave and stealing his remains from inside it in the village of Basat and hiding them while leaving a written message asking for a sum of money in exchange for its return.” .
The Talkha Court, in Dakahlia Governorate, recently closed the curtain with a 3-year prison sentence against three defendants in the incident, after directing them to steal the remains of a deceased person and bargain with his children to pay an amount of half a million pounds in order to return it to them again, with extortion and violating the sanctity of graves.
The three defendants in the case are: “Muhammad S.A.”, “Radi F.A.,” and “Jumaa.A.A.” Misdemeanor No. 2729 of 2023 in the Talkha Center was charged with charges of Articles No. 45/1, 160/Second, and 326 of the Penal Code.
