Strong demand for heat pumps – noe.ORF.at

At the house building and energy saving trade fair in Tulln, the topic of saving energy continues to be the focus. Many visitors are looking for alternatives to expensive oil and gas. Photovoltaic systems and heat pumps are particularly in demand.

Whether new construction, conversion or renovation: building and renovating remains expensive. The price increases for building materials are now between 30 and 70 percent. According to the exhibitors at the trade fair, it is not to be expected that prices will fall again: “The current price situation will not change,” predicts building contractor Hubert Nechwatal from Echsenbach (Zwettl district).

In the meantime, the organizers of the fair cannot complain about a lack of interest, despite the rise in prices. Messe boss Wolfgang Strasser locates the uncertainties in the global supply chains as the reason. “Here at the fair you really get the answers as to when which products will be available, at what price and when they can actually be installed and implemented,” says Strasser. The supply chain situation has now defused somewhat compared to the previous year, it is said.

Experts recommend the combination of photovoltaic system and heat pump for cheap energy

Best seller heat pump

Many trade fair visitors are primarily concerned with the topic of saving energy these days. Experts recommend a combination of photovoltaics and heat pump for your own home, and homeowners are said to have to invest around 30,000 to 50,000 euros for this.

However, heat pump dealers confirm that demand remains high. “We’re currently having very strong months there,” says electrician Rudolf Leitner from Großharras (Mistelbach district), “that’s up to 15 pieces a month, we used to sell at best 20 pieces a year.” A total of 280 exhibitors are expecting the Visitors until Sunday. There are also more than 60 specialist lectures on the subject of energy.
