Kozhikode: One of the two students who went for a swim in the river at Nadapuram Parakkadavu Ummathur drowned. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad (13), son of Parakkadavu Ummathur Coylot Moidu. The search is on to find Mishab (13), a friend who was swept away.
Two of the six students who went for a swim in the river near Ummathur school at around 6 pm on Tuesday were swept away by a strong current. Mohammad was rushed to the Vadakara Government Hospital by the locals following being informed by the swimmers. Muhammad died at 7 p.m.
The search is continuing in the Chelakkad fire brigade area.
