Study on Hydroxychloroquine’s Effectiveness in COVID-19 Treatment: Insights and Analysis

2024-01-08 07:09:00

This is a study that got a lot of attention last week. A study published last Tuesday estimates that 17,000 people from 6 countries, including France, died following being treated with hydrydroxychloroquine during the first wave of the coronavirus epidemic.

Four years ago, at the start of the Covid-19 epidemic, hydroxychloroquine was advocated and administered by the former director of the Marseille University Hospital Institute (IHU) in infectious diseases Didier Raoult. Several studies have subsequently proven the ineffectiveness and even the potential danger of this molecule.

We return to this study this morning with a researcher from Montpellier, Hervé Seitz, molecular biologist and researcher at the CNRS.

He is one of the first researchers in France to denounce the work of Professor Raoult and the massive use of hydroxychloroquine.
